About the Department
Department of Legal Studies has been set up to impart legal education to students with its
well-structured courses & aims to make them aware of the legal rights & responsibilities. The
School ensures that the students get a comprehensive understanding of the practical aspects
of law. Its programs are recognized by the Bar Council of India. The University have allotted
60 seats per annum for B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) five years integrated degree course. 60 seats for
LL.B. three years’ degree course, 60 seats for one year LL.M master degree course (in four
stream – IPR, Criminology, Business Law, Constitutional Law) and Ph.D. The School ensures
that the students get a comprehensive understanding of the practical aspects of law for which
our teaching methodology includes seminars, tutorial work, moot courts and practical training
programs. Legal internships/trainings provide an opportunity for students to increase their
knowledge of substantive areas of law, gain exposure to a real work environment and provide
valuable support to a legal employer. The School of Law has its own well-furnished moot court
as per BCI norms. Moot Court has been set up to acquaint the students with the procedural and
functional behavior of law. The School of Law has also established a Legal Aid Clinic for
providing free help and guidance to needy persons as per BCI norms.

Teaching Methodology
The teaching methodology adopted at the School of law is intensive as well
as extensive classroom teaching involving active participation of the students.
Theoretical classroom teaching is supplemented by clinical legal work. It also includes
preparation of project reports, project presentation, submission of assignments, seminars,
moot courts, etc. At the School of Law, we nurture future leaders and elite professionals
for the legal world and beyond.
