The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at IEC University is committed to fostering meaningful between faculty and students, while promoting an academic
environment that bridges scientific advancement with critical thought. The department
emphasizes the development of communication and managerial skills, along with a deep
awareness of societal issues, to ensure the holistic growth of its students. As part of the School of
Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), which comprises eleven diverse yet interconnected
departments, the department upholds a shared focus on sustainability, data, and local context. It
offers a variety of academic programs, including BA, BJMC, BFD, MA and PGDC.
Distinguished by its interdisciplinary approach, the department brings together scholars from
Economics, English, Political Science, History, Sociology, Psychology, Hindi, Geography,
Public Administration, Journalism & Mass Communication, and Fashion & Design.
Furthermore the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IEC University is a centre for
research and teaching composed of academics with a strong emphasis on research, it supports
collaborative projects, fellowships, and academic supervision, attracting students and researchers
from diverse backgrounds. Through national and international partnerships, the department
contributes to innovative scholarship and consistently publishes high-quality academic work,
affirming its commitment to excellence in teaching and research in the humanities and social
sciences.
