International Conference on Recent Trends and Innovations in Multidisciplinary Research (2019-20)

IEC University has organized an International Conference on Recent Trends and Innovations in Multidisciplinary Research. The students of IEC School of basic and applied sciences participated in the conference. Faculty and Research scholars of school presented research papers, oral presentations in the conference. The lectures delivered by guests and speakers in the conference impart knowledge for better approach towards research aptitude.

National Level Quiz competition (2020-21): IEC school of basic and applied sciences has organized a National Level Quiz competition .The objective of the quiz competition was to encourage students to look beyond their textual knowledge and establish a relationship between theory and application of the learnt concepts To enhance the reasoning skills of the students, Helpful for competitive exams

Two Weeks Online Faculty Development Programme (2020-21): IEC University has organized a Two Weeks Online Faculty Development Programme. The students of IEC School of basic and applied sciences attend FDP. As a result of participating in Engaged Learning’s professional development offerings, faculty members should have an enhanced ability to assess student learning and use results for improvement

Online National Conference on Recent Trends of Innovation in Basic & Applied Sciences (NCRTIBAS-2021) (2021-22). The national conference was organized on 22ndOctober 2021 through Zoom platform. Faculty, Research scholars and PG students from various institutions have participated in this national conference.

Online webinar on the theme “Nanotechnology: Shapes effect on hydrogen response of palladium nanoparticles” (2021-22). The national level webinar started at 11:00AM on 11th Jan 2022 through google meet Platform. Dr Manish Taunk as coordinator and moderator of the webinar gave the formal introduction of the Guest Speaker: Prof. P B Barman. Dr Ashish Kumar Sharma, Dean PGS welcomed Prof. Barman by presenting him a virtual bouquet. Prof Barman gave his presentation on topic Nanotechnology: Shapes effect on hydrogen response of palladium nanoparticles. He discussed synthesis of Palladium nanoparticles and their characterization using X-ray diffraction and FESEM. He also discussed effect of PVP concentration on Pd nanoparticles. Sensing response of hydrogen on Pd nanoparticles was discussed in detail as an application. Prof. Barman wrap up the talk by summarizing the main results. After his talk he thanked the organizing team of this webinar and IEC university authorities. The session ended with vote of thanks given by Dr Kanchan

National webinar on “Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future” (2021-22) A National webinar on “Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future” organized by IEC School of Basic and Applied Sciences, Baddi H.P. in association with Indian Science Congress Association, Shimla Chapter on 28 February 2022 (Celebration of National Science Day) to commemorate the discovery of Raman effect by Sir C. V. Raman, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

Industrial Visit(2018-19): On 24-04-2019, School of basic and applied sciences organized a visit to Sophisticated Analytical Instrumentation Facility at Punjab University Chandigarh to explore professional knowledge of students. The instruments like SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy), TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy), FT-NMR Cryo-magnet Spectrometer, X-ray Diffractometer, and UV-VIS-NIR Spectrophotometer were introduced to the students. 3 faculty members assisted the 20 students during this visit.

2. Cultural Activity

Yoga Day: To promote both the physical and mental well-being  IEC school of basic and applied sciences has celebrated the International Yoga Day on 21-06-2018 in IEC campus in association with the members of “Shree Hari-Om Yoga Societ Baddi” Dr. Shrikant Sharma and Shri. Kulveer Singh Arya. 40 students and 30 faculty members taken part in the yoga session.

World Environment Day: On the Occasion of World Environment Day on 05-06-2019, NSS volunteers of School of basic and applied science along with other NSS volunteers from university contribute to clean the nearby area in collaboration with kalka railway

Himachal Statehood day: IEC University has celebrated the Himachal Statehood day. All the students and staff members of IEC School of basic and applied sciences have participated in this event.
