Admission Process for Ph. D. Programme:-
  • Admission Process for Ph. D Programme programme shall be made through a written test (200 Marks). The duration of the examination is 2 hours. The qualifying marks in the written test are 50%.
  • The candidates for Ph.D. Programme shall be admitted through an Entrance Examination followed by Personal Interview. The candidate is required to submit an application along with the requisite documents and Entrance Examination Fee.
  • The Entrance Examination and Personal Interview shall be conducted normally twice in a year or depending on the availability of seats. However, in case if any seat remains unfilled, the Entrance Examination and Personal Interview may be conducted during the semester with the permission of the Vice-Chancellor. Such vacancies shall be notified through advertisement in newspaper as well as displayed on the website of the University.
  • The Entrance Examination will comprise one paper having two Parts. The paper will contain 100 MCQs with 4 optional answers carrying 2 marks each. The duration of the each Paper shall be two hours.
  • The syllabus for this Paper shall be as per UGC/NET syllabus of the concerned discipline.
  • Total 200 marks (Paper I & Paper II) Pass percentage is 50%.
  • A candidate who has appeared in the Entrance Examination shall be eligible to appear in Personal Interview only if he/she has secured pass marks as stated above.
  • The candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/Teacher Fellowship Holder will be exempted from the Entrance Examination but they shall have to appear in the Personal Interview along with other candidates who have qualified the Entrance Examination of the University.
  • Those who qualify at the written test and/or in JRF / NET / etc. shall be called for an interview, which carries 50 marks, where the candidates will be tested in analytical abilities, research aptitude, understanding of the subject and communication skills.
  • The final result will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Paper I, Paper II and Personal Interview (total 250 marks) and the Final Result/Merit List of the Entrance Examination shall be notified after getting approval of the Vice-Chancellor.
